In 2015, Dave and Terry Taylor founded Taylor Insurance Services LLC in Oskaloosa, Kansas. In 2023, they purchased Hegarty-Caplinger Insurance, continuing the longtime tradition of that company in Effingham and Atchison.

A fifth-generation Kansan, Dave was born and raised on the family farm near White Cloud in Doniphan County. He has worked in insurance for more than 40 years. The couple has six children, 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Together, they run the family’s registered and commercial seedstock Red Angus operation.

Today, Taylor Insurance Services LLC and Hegarty-Caplinger Insurance serve farmers, families and businesses primarily in Northeast Kansas, including Jefferson, Atchison, Doniphan, Brown, Osage, Anderson, Coffey, Lyon, Chase and Franklin counties.
